My favorite part of Super Sub Day is watching my little team of student journalists do their thing. They always suprise me in how good their interview skills are, and it is so fun to watch them get excited about their assignments. Here are the interviews that my students did on our most recent Super Sub Day at La Puente High School.

Super Subs at Animo Loch Tech High
Last week, I spent a day teaching three super cool students at Animo Loch Tech High School about digital media and journalism, as those of you who read this post are well aware. When I asked the students who the first person they wanted to interview was, the answer was unanimous and quick: Michael McCarty!
It's no wonder. Michael is a professional storyteller, and is certainly no stranger to PNN. His dynamic stories and personality are always a hit among kids, teenagers, and adults alike.
Enjoy their short-but-sweet interview.
And below that, check out the footage they shot that day.And check out the awesome video that OHN Media made to document to event.

Do you remember Mike and Matt? They were the two home schooled, Junior Medical School students that got to interview Doug Stoup while he was skiing his way towards the South Pole. And guess what? They got to do it again, once he arrived at the Pole.
Check out their interview.
A Happy Day at PNN!
A Happy Day at PNN!
Today is a big day here at PNN! Doug Stoup, the adventurer we have been tracking as he trekked across the Antarctic, arrived at the geographic South Pole. To celebrate his accomplishment, we set up an interview between Mountain Shadows Middle School's Expeditionary Learning and Doug. We called him on his satellite phone as he stood at the South Pole, and the kids asked him questions about the expedition.
You HAVE to check these kids out!

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting a group of middle school students that really knocked my socks off. (not a sentence you hear regarding middle school students on a regular basis, eh?) I coordinated an interview between the Santa Barbara Teen Press and our favorite explorer, Doug Stoup last week. Wow, these kids are something! They are so well spoken, informed, and professional. They spent last week covering mac world in San Francisco, and it is rumored that they are heading over to the Santa Barbara Film Festival too.Check out their website and prepare to be impressed.
And their interview with Doug!
And don't feel bad if you spent your teen years going to football games, talking on the phone, or doodling on your binder.
Most of us did.
