Reasons I love Wales
I could Live on River Island
I could Live on River Island
When I studied in Swansea in 2003-04, I was a hard-core New Look and Accesorize girl. For those unfortunate souls have never had the opportunity to shop in the UK, New Look and Accessorize are two very popular young women clothing stores. The New Look in Swansea is giant, and one of the less expensive, but still trendy stores. It sells clothes (standard sizes, pre-teen sizes, and plus sizes), shoes, accessories, underwear, pajamas... pretty much everything. Accessorize is a quite pricey, but amazing store that sells.... you got it. Accessorize. Cute bags, awesome jewelry, knitted items that make me drool, etc. I still love Accessorize, and probably always will, but I don't find New Look quite as appealing as I used to. My new love, is River Island.
River Island is a quite a bit more pricey than New Look, but it is also much more original, and much more rock couture. I kind of want to blow my life savings every time I go in there. Don't worry, I won't.
Here are a few of my favorite looks from their cool website. Go here click on "women," then "get the latest look," to see more.

Sunny With A Chance of Insanity
Sunny With A Chance of Insanity
The rain has been absolutely mental around here lately. Literally, mental. I think Swansea weather is a bit schizophrenic. i have spent the last fifteen minutes or so in Starbucks, looking out the window. In that amount of time, the sky has been both perfectly blue and sunny, and has suddenly and randomly turned dark, dark gray and poured buckets of rain. People waited under store fronts until the down pour passed, and babies in prams hid underneath their fancy, plastic, umbrella like coverings.
It's sunny now, but I predict a downpour within the next half hour. Hope I'm not caught in it!
Bitch Buzz Interview
Bitch Buzz Interview
This week, I woke up in the wee hours of the morning (well, the hours were wee for me, anyway) and caught the train to London to interview Cate Sevilla founding editor of BitchBuzz.com, a new online women's magazine.
My day in London was quite typical of many of my experieinces in London: simultaneously frustrating and enjoyable. IE: interviewing Cate was enjoyable, spending an hour walking around the Waterloo area, looking for I Knit London, was not.
I am happy to say that I can share the best part of my day in London with you: my interview with Cate. Check it out.
On the Tele: Black Books
On the Tele: Black Books

If you think that a show about an uber-cynical, quite mean, always drunk, Irish bookseller sounds like a laugh, then Black Books is the show for you.
Want to know a secret? I find Dylan Moran strangely attractive. I think its mostly to do with the accent.
